Fundraising Events

The Museums and Historical Society present a variety of fundraisers annually. Events range from the family friendly Mercer Museum Folk Fest and Fonthill's Old-Fahioned 4th of July to the elegant Mercer Museum's Savory Sampler and fun Spring Auction.

The Mercer Museum has announced an exciting $10M expansion program to provide expanded exhibition space including a new 3,500 square foot changing exhibits gallery, and a new 1,000 square foot Multi-flex Learning Center; upgraded visitor services and enhanced site development: including welcoming, wayfinding and expanded parking facilities, and an enhanced endowment.

Will the 22nd annual Mercer Legacy Sweepstakes be lucky for you? Make sure to enter before the winning numbers are selected at the Legacy lawn party (tickets required). Legacy chances are $100 each with a maximum of 600 sold. The Grand Prize Winner will choose between a new car from Thompson BMW and $20,000 cash – will it be you?

Experience "the good-old days" as Fonthill re-creates an early 20th century July Fourth Celebration. Festivities include a decorated bike parade, a town ball game (19th-century baseball), a watermelon eating contest, free old-time games and live music. Food is available or you can bid on a picnic basket. Admission is $3 for adults ($2 BCHS members), $1 for children ages 6-17 and free for those under 6. Heavy rain cancels event. Mercer Museum Savory Sampler
Sumptuous food is served up at Savory Sampler

Friday, October 3
7:30-11:30 p.m., Mercer Museum
Join your friends and neighbors for the 31st annual Savory Sampler, Bucks County’s premier food and wine tasting event. The black-tie gala features the specialties of the area’s finest culinary masters amidst the Mercer Museum’s dramatic displays.  Some of last year's participating restaurants and businesses included: Buckingham Valley Vineyard & Winery, The Carversville General Store, Chaddsford Winery, Chambers 19 & the Other Side, Chef Nadhir.com, Distinctive Desserts, E'Claire's Bakery & Cafe, Jamie Hollander Gourmet Foods, Java Heaven, and the Joseph Ambler Inn.

Enjoy a Patron's Preview party, a champagne reception prior to the start of Savory Sampler. Begun in 1977, all proceeds from Savory Sampler benefit the Mercer Museum's educational programs for children, adults and families.

Enjoy a “Night on the Town” at the Mercer’s annual event featuring a silent and live auction and cocktail reception catered by Memorable Affairs. WIN A NIGHT ON THE TOWN!                                                                                                    Purchase your tickets to the Mercer Museum Auction by April 4, 2008, and you will be entered into a drawing to win Limousine transportation to and from the Mercer Museum Auction on April 18th courtesy of Heritage, plus dinner following the auction.

For each ticket purchase by April 4, 2008, buyer will receive one chance to win the “Night on the Town” prize.  Ticket requests must be received at the Mercer Museum by 5 p.m. on April 4.   Winner will be notified following the drawing on April 8.  Odds of winning depend upon the number of tickets purchased by the necessary date.  Winner will be notified of any restrictions.
